As a Weatherproofing Specialist you will enjoy a variety of duties, working on site at some of the most interesting buildings in the New England area and environs, and following up with reports in our Canton, MA lab and office location.

 

Basic Responsibilities:

  • Performs and assists with
    • weatherproofing inspections and testing
    • electronic roof testing services
    • wind uplift tests
    • building condition surveys of masonry, concrete, and EIFS building envelope
  • Writes technical reports.
  • Represents the company at professional meetings or events, sometimes outside of normal working hours.
  • Leads projects and communicates with building owners and contractors.
  • Assesses reported water penetration and air infiltration, searches for potential weatherproofing failures, designs and executes tests to determine the source of the leakage, and provides insight for

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) preferred; Associates degree acceptable
  • Knowledge of CAD program preferred
  • Construction background a plus
  • Valid drivers’ license, clean record, and reliable transportation.
  • OSHA certification a plus
  • General computer knowledge (MS-Word, Excel)
  • Ability to pass CORI background check
  • Ability to read specifications
  • Possess strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Performs his/her duties safely
  • Is punctual, reliable, and flexible and enjoys learning and growing

Physical Demand:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to  25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 125 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While in the field, the employee may be required to walk in rugged conditions, work in adverse weather conditions, and stand up to eight hours or more at a time.

Work Hours:

Days, typically Mon.-Fri; some weekend, nights, holidays and overtime hours may be required. Hourly rate.  Fieldwork assignments with some travel required.
