Performs construction materials testing both in the company’s lab facilities in Canton, MA and in the field.  Will be required to travel to field assignments.

The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Performs testing and inspections in fields such as steel, concrete, soils, roofing, building envelope, and masonry, both in the company’s lab facilities in Canton, MA and on job sites.
  • Reports test findings in technical reports in a timely manner
  • Communicates with building owners’ representatives, contractors, and architects.
  • When required checks contract documents to ensure accurate test results.
  • Assist in building enclosure testing and inspection.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or equivalent. Entry-level candidates willing to learn on the job will be considered

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to effectively communicate with field and office personnel. Must be able to observe and document job activities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, climb or balance. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While in the field, the employee may be required to walk in rugged conditions and/or work in adverse weather conditions.

CERTIFICATES: Must take one OSHA-10 hour Safety Course.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must be capable and willing to perform field and in-house lab testing and observe job activities on the job site. Must have reliable transportation.

COMPENSATION: Hourly compensation dependent upon qualifications and experience. Employee benefit package available.
